Don Jíbaro’s Story

By 1967, I was the 2nd hairiest rock musician in the Metro area... the first was Lito, the bass player with El Madamo's band “The Carpetbaggers” from Caguas. He had a "cereta" as big as... well... very, very big.

LL HUMAN BEINGS, during the course of a lifetime, get opportunity to do something with their significant with their lives. It’s fair, to say then, that we chose our destiny, even when we don’t have all the elements to fulfill our choices. Those choices dictate the outcome of our lives. This contradicts the view that we’re thrown into the evolutionary mold and thus develop accordingly. When all is said and done, it all comes down to the choices we make.

Saint James, the Lord Jesus' brother, said that life is like steam, a vapor disappearing before one can grasp it completely. It is once here and then it’s gone! Consequently, it is imperative that we do the best that we can with what we have today, because there might not be a tomorrow.

I, however, didn’t have the choice to be born into this world; my mom chose for me. (Thanks, mom, for allowing me to not become another statistic!) I was born, into this world, therefore, after being a cute fetus for about nine months or so, imagining trying to peek out my mom’s belly button from the inside of the womb being curious as whether or not I’d be welcomed the minute I slip outside

I had already felt that life was already complex and interdependent and knew beforehand, I would not be able to make it on my own. For that reason, I still view everything with curiosity and get excited about life, marvelling at every new discovery… READ MORE
